Nobs Community Standards
Pre-launch draft — pending qualified legal review. Not approved for launch.
Draft status and scope
These Standards are a pre-launch draft pending qualified legal review. Nobs is a place to play cribbage, not to harass people or game the system.
They apply to usernames, friend requests and challenges, online games, reports and appeals, and every other social feature. They are part of the Nobs Cribbage Terms of Service.
Nobs has no chat or media uploads. These rules still apply to usernames, gameplay behavior, friend requests, challenge patterns, report notes, and attempts to misuse technical fields.
Treat people with respect
Do not use Nobs to:
- harass, bully, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or repeatedly target another person;
- attack or demean people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, disability, medical condition, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity;
- sexualize, exploit, groom, endanger, or abuse a child, or promote child sexual abuse or exploitation;
- share or threaten to share private or identifying information;
- misleadingly impersonate a person, Nobs staff, a public authority, or an organization; or
- promote violence, self-harm, fraud, or other illegal activity.
Choose an appropriate username
Usernames must use the characters and length accepted by the app. Do not use a name containing explicit sexual material, severe slurs, hateful abuse, a credible threat, child sexual abuse or exploitation, private information, harassment, fraud, violence, illegal activity, staff impersonation, or an attempt to evade a filter or required rename.
Nobs may reject a username before creation or require a later rename. A name passing the automatic check does not mean it is approved forever; context or a later report may show a problem the filter could not identify.
Profiles use bundled Nobs avatars. Do not try to inject, link, or upload custom media through a username, report, invite, or technical field.
Play fairly
Do not:
- use a modified client, bot, script, automation, exploit, or unauthorized tool to gain an advantage;
- collude, manipulate a result, arrange a false win or loss, or falsify a record;
- intentionally stall, disconnect, or disrupt a game to avoid a likely result or harass an opponent;
- spam or target someone through friends, challenges, blocks, or invite links;
- access another person’s account without permission; or
- create or use an account to evade a warning, rename, suspension, ban, or safeguard.
Protect privacy and safety
Do not submit another person’s address, contact details, school, workplace, credentials, precise location, private messages, health information, or other private data.
Keep reports and appeals focused on what Nobs needs to review. Do not include passwords, identity documents, financial information, illegal images, or unnecessary sensitive information. A bug is not permission to exploit it.
A Nobs report is not an emergency service. Contact the appropriate local emergency service if someone may be in immediate danger.
Report honestly
Use reporting for a genuine concern. Choose the closest reason and give only relevant facts. Do not fabricate evidence, knowingly make a false accusation, coordinate mass reports, or retaliate after a loss or ended friendship.
A good-faith report will not violate these Standards merely because Nobs decides not to take action. Nobs reviews reports in context. Report count alone does not determine an outcome.
We generally do not reveal a reporter’s identity to the reported player, but may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary for safety, investigation, or fair redress.
How Nobs enforces these Standards
Nobs uses automated checks to screen usernames and assign report priority. Authorized people review reports and context. Depending on severity, context, history, and risk, actions may include rejecting or removing a username, requiring a rename, warning an account holder, limiting social features, suspending an account, or banning it.
Nobs may preserve or disclose limited information where required or permitted by law and reasonably necessary for safety, investigation, redress, or legal claims.
We aim to apply these Standards consistently and proportionately, but moderation can involve judgment and mistakes can happen. When appropriate, the affected person receives the rule and action and can appeal in the app or through support@nobscribbage.com.
Blocking, help, and changes
You can block a player to stop supported social interactions and report a player from their profile or the relevant flow. A public report form is available at https://www.nobscribbage.com/report.
For account or appeal help, contact support@nobscribbage.com. For report data and retention, see https://www.nobscribbage.com/privacy.
Nobs will identify the current version and date when these Standards change. A material change may require social users to review and agree again.
